Housewares for a Temporary Home After the Indiana and Ohio Storms
If the August storms put your family in a rental, a corporate unit, or a travel trailer on your own lot while the house is repaired, the place is only half of it. Temporary Housewares ships boxed kits nationwide with the other half: the kitchen, the bedding, the bath, and the cleaning supplies.
Request a kitStart with what the place already has
Furnished rentals, corporate units, and travel trailers each come with different things. Before you order, walk through and list what is there. A furnished unit generally has beds, a kitchen, and a bathroom. What it usually does not have is the household items: pots, plates, sheets, towels, cleaning supplies. Every kit supports swap, remove, upgrade, and add at the line-item level, so take out what the place already has. Skip customizing and the kit ships as listed.
Which kit fits
- A family in a temporary rental after the storms: ALE Essentials, our insurance displacement kit, outfits a two-bedroom place with the kitchen, both bedrooms, the bath, cleaning, and a few living room comforts.
- A travel trailer on your own lot: a furnished trailer comes with a kitchen, a bathroom, and real beds. Our kits cover the household items that go on top of that, and you can take out anything the trailer already has.
- Only a few things missing: The Bare Bones lets you order exactly the lines you need, such as only the bedding or only the coffee maker.
- A crew or a longer work stay: The Corporate Crashpad.
Room by room, our guide to furnishing a temporary home walks through the rest.
Where the money question comes in
If your housing is covered under a homeowners policy’s Additional Living Expense coverage, ask your adjuster how your policy treats household items, and keep your receipts. We can provide an itemized kit list. Adjusters and housing coordinators order for families too; existing partners order from the portal or email kit@temporaryhousewares.com.

Questions
- What do I need for a temporary home after the storms in Indiana or Ohio?
- Start with what the place already has, then cover the kitchen (cookware, dinnerware, utensils, coffee), the bedrooms (sheets, pillows, and a comforter for each bed), the bath (towels and a shower curtain), and cleaning supplies. ALE Essentials delivers all of it in one shipment.
- Do you ship to Indiana and Ohio?
- Yes. Kits ship nationwide with tracking, and receipt confirmation lands in your order portal.
- Does insurance cover housewares after the storms?
- That depends on your policy and your carrier. Ask your adjuster how your Additional Living Expense coverage treats household items, and keep receipts. We can provide an itemized kit list. For the housing side of a claim, see 1st Choice Living's Indiana and Ohio storms page.
- My temporary housing is a travel trailer. Do I still need a kit?
- A furnished trailer comes with a kitchen, a bathroom, and real beds, not the pots, plates, sheets, and towels. Every kit supports swap, remove, upgrade, and add at the line-item level, so take out what the trailer already has. The trailer itself is Temporary RV Living's work.
- Do you provide the housing too?
- No. We handle what goes inside. Housing is our parent company's work: see 1st Choice Living.
