Insurance Displacement

What Is in an ALE Essentials Kit

ALE Essentials is our insurance displacement kit. It is built for a family that had a house yesterday and an empty two-bedroom place today, and it covers the things you do not think about until you need them: something to cook in, something to eat off, sheets that fit the bed, towels, and a broom.

Request this kit

The kitchen

A ten-piece non-stick cookware set and a three-piece bakeware set. Flatware and a dinnerware set for four, drinking glasses, and mugs. A knife block set, a ten-piece utensil set, cutting boards, mixing bowls, a colander, measuring cups and spoons, and a can and bottle opener. A dish drying rack, dish towels, pot holders, and oven mitts. Small appliances: a twelve-cup coffee maker, a two-slice toaster, and a countertop microwave.

Two bedrooms, made up

The primary bedroom gets a queen sheet set, a comforter, a mattress protector, two pillows, and a blanket. The second bedroom gets a full sheet set, a comforter, and two pillows.

The bath

Bath towels, hand towels, and washcloths, a bath mat, a shower curtain with liner and rings, and a small trash can.

Cleaning and laundry

A broom and dustpan, a mop and bucket, a stick vacuum, and a laundry basket.

Living

A kitchen trash can, a throw blanket, and two decorative pillows. The last two are not essentials. They are there because a room with nothing soft in it does not feel like anywhere.

Change anything in it

Every kit supports swap, remove, upgrade, and add at the line-item level. Take out what the rental already has. Upgrade the piece that will get the most use. Or skip customizing and the kit ships as listed.

How it gets there

Kits ship nationwide with tracking, and receipt confirmation lands in your order portal, so the adjuster or coordinator who ordered it can see it arrived without calling anyone.

If the housing is an RV

Many displaced families stay in a travel trailer on their own property while the house is rebuilt. Our parent company handles that: on-site RV housing during a claim, and what to expect after a house fire. A furnished unit comes with a kitchen, a bathroom, and real beds. This kit covers the household items that go on top of that.

Furnishing the rest

Not sure what a temporary home needs beyond the kit? Our guide to furnishing a temporary home walks through it room by room.

Who orders this kit

Insurance adjusters handling ALE claims, relocation and temporary housing coordinators, and families ordering for themselves. Existing partners order from the portal or email kit@temporaryhousewares.com. New here? Use the form below.

Questions

What is an ALE kit?
ALE stands for Additional Living Expense, the part of a homeowners policy that covers living somewhere else while the home is repaired. An ALE kit is the set of housewares that makes that temporary place usable: kitchen, bedding, bath, cleaning, and living basics, delivered together instead of assembled from a dozen store runs.
What comes in the ALE Essentials kit?
Cookware, bakeware, dinnerware and flatware for four, glasses, knives and utensils, a coffee maker, toaster, and microwave. Bedding for a queen bedroom and a full bedroom. Bath towels and a shower set. Cleaning tools including a stick vacuum. A few living room comforts. Every line can be swapped, removed, upgraded, or added to.
Can I change what is in the kit?
Yes. Swap, remove, upgrade, or add at the line-item level before it ships. If the rental already has a microwave, we take it out of the list.
